The Last Summer 7

A pre-war summer resort and an emergency exit sign? They hardly match, do they?
We tried to recreate the air of the period at hand at the exhibition. It is impossible to go back in time, though. Even in a historic building we are required to comply with present-day regulations and standards related to the safety and comfort of our visitors and the museum staff.
Therefore, we were unable to cover up signs indicating fire extinguishers, emergency exits, smoke detectors as well as lighting, heating, and air conditioning controls. Nobody would want to do without an elevator for people with impaired mobility or modern toilets, either. The exhibit's lighting system, installed on a permanent basis during the villa's revitalization, is also in operation.
However, we hope that these minor glimpses of modernity are not too conspicuous and that the visitors will be able to get immersed into our narrative and enjoy the wealth of pre-war furniture, kilim rugs, crockery, ornaments, and many more items from that period.
