Magdalena Karpińska
„Weave"
Magdalena Karpińska is a painter who works on canvas, paper, and fabric. Her main inspiration is nature. She studies its various components—flowers, fruit, planets, stars, water, and volcanoes. She pulls them from the landscape and arranges them in new, unrealistic compositions. Sometimes people and animals appear in her works as well. She pays a great deal of attention to painting technique and the form of her pictures, building spatial objects from painted silk.
An installation is a work of art made of several parts. Together they make a three-dimensional construction. Magdalena Karpińska’s project for the villa is an installation made of four hand-painted strips of material. This is silk, a natural textile that is very soft, smooth, and slightly transparent.

Every piece of fabric is made of the interwoven threads of the warp and weft. These are called weaves. Magdalena Karpińska’s work makes reference to weaves and to checker patterns, created from the various strips. „Weave” has another, less technical meaning. It has to do with cooperation, joining people, close relationships.

„Переплетення”
Маґдалена Карпінська – це художниця, яка працює на полотні, папері та тканині. Її великим джерелом натхнення є природа. Вона приглядається різним елементам – квітам, фруктам, планетам, зіркам, воді або вулканам. Вона вириває їх з пейзажу і вставляє в нові неочевидні композиції. Іноді в її роботах з'являються також тварини та люди. Велику увагу приділяє вона техніці малювання і формі картин – будує просторові об’єкти з розписного шовку.
Інсталяція – це витвір мистецтва, який складається з кількох елементів. Разом вони утворюють тривимірну конструкцію. Маґдалена Карпінська приготувала в просторі вілли інсталяцію з чотирьох розмальованих вручну смуг тканини. Це шовк, тобто натуральна тканина – дуже м'яка, гладка, злегка просвічуюча.

Кожна тканина повстає з переплетаючихся ниток утоку і основи. Це так звані переплетення. Робота Маґдалени Карпінської відноситься до переплетінь і створених черговими смугами клітинок. Переплетіння має ще й інше, менш технічне значення. Відноситься воно до співпраці, об'єднання людей, близьких стосунків.
